If there’s one dish that truly belongs to a country pub, it’s the parma. Big, golden, comforting, and proudly unpretentious — it’s the kind of meal that brings people together without trying too hard. And here at The Courthouse, our parma has earned its reputation the old-fashioned way: one happy Tuesday night at a time.
We’ve served plenty of plates in this old 1859 building, but the parma is the one that never leaves the menu, never loses its charm, and never fails to bring a smile when it lands on a table.
Why Our Parma Hits the Spot
A proper parma doesn’t need bells and whistles. It needs care, flavour, and that satisfying moment when you cut in and know you’ve made the right choice.
Ours starts with a generous hand-crumbed schnitzel — crispy on the outside, tender on the inside — with rich Napoli sauce and plenty of melted cheese. Add hot chips and a fresh salad, and you’ve got yourself the kind of pub meal people drive for.
And they really do drive for it.
Ken left a review recently after riding in from Ballarat:
“My mates had parmas and thoroughly enjoyed them… Well done and thank you Courthouse.”
Comments like that mean the world to us — and they say a lot about the parma itself.
Parma Night Tuesdays: A Weekly Tradition
Every Tuesday the pub fills with that familiar energy. The kitchen gets into its groove, the dining room hums, and parmas fly out the pass like they’re going out of fashion.
Some order the classic. Some branch out. Some say they’ll try something different next time — but they never do. And honestly, we don’t blame them.
Happy Hour from 4–6pm, Monday to Thursday, makes Tuesdays even better. A discounted drink before your parma? That’s just smart midweek planning.
More Than a Meal
A parma at The Courthouse isn’t just lunch or dinner — it’s comfort, routine, and a reminder that the simple things still matter.
When someone orders a parma, it usually means:
- They want something hearty
- They trust the classic
- They’re settling in for a proper pub feed
- They’re ready to relax and enjoy themselves
It’s the kind of meal that quietly becomes part of people’s week.
Why It Will Always Be on the Menu
This pub has seen a lot since 1859, but good food placed in front of good people has never stopped being the heart of the place. The parma is part of that history now — a staple, a favourite, and a dish that feels like home.
Whether it’s a Tuesday tradition or just a craving you can’t shake, there’ll always be a golden, cheesy Courthouse parma waiting for you.
